These links are to other sites and organisations that may be able to help.

If you are an individual, or family, or supporting organisation, or charity, and you require additional support outside of the Hornsey Parochial Charities the following organisations may be able to assist:


Other local charities which serve different areas of benefit:


Wood Green (Urban District) Charity: provides pensions to eligible elderly residents within the boundaries of the former Wood Green Urban District Council (N22). It also provides grants to eligible residents in need. 07740456581.


Tottenham District Charity: provides pensions and grants to Tottenham residents who are disadvantaged and in particular need of financial assistance.



Hackney Parochial Charities, South Hackney Parochial Charity and West Hackney Parochial Charity to relieve hardship and poverty in Hackney by giving grants to individuals who live within the charities’ areas of benefit in Hackney; or grants to organisations who are based in Hackney, or whose projects will benefit people living within the charities’ areas of benefit.. 020 3397 7805.



Lady Gould’s Charity: Gives grant to people within Highgate area of benefit who are in need via grants to cover essential household items and clothing. 20 7783 3568.


General advice

Citizens Advice Haringey: Offers free, confidential, impartial and independent advice and information on a wide range of subjects: Universal Credit, Food Banks, Young Advice, Self Help. Freephone: 0808 278 7966.

Connected Communities: for support with the impact of coronavirus on your money, accessing essential items or accessing the support you need. Helpline on 020 8489 4431 (Monday-Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm).

Turn 2 Us: online information and advice service including a benefits Calculator and grant search and support organisations.

Haringey Migrant Centre: support for migrants and asylum seekers. Helpline: 020 4566 7412 (Thursdays from 10am)

Food Banks

Hornsey Foodbank: Thursdays, from 11 am to 1 pm.  07940 030353


Holy Trinity Food Bank: Holy Trinity Church Hall Stapleton Hall Road. Sunday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.


Gospel Centre Food Bank:  Tuesday 9am to 5pm; 6:30 to 8pm & Saturday 1 10:30am to 12 noon. 0208 374 7708.

Below are some organisations that can provide support and guidance if someone is in a housing crisis.

Mental Health

Barnet Enfield Haringey Mental Health 24/7 Crisis Line:

0800 151 0023 for urgent support.


Mind in Haringey: provides information, advice and support to people affected by mental health problems, primarily in Haringey. We work to prevent mental health problems, promote mental wellbeing and ensure those with mental health problems are respected and included in our local community.020 8340 2474.


Open Door:  Offers free confidential counselling and psychotherapy to young people aged 12 up to age 24* living in Haringey. 020 8348 5947.

Samaritans: Available to listen to you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call 116 123 or 08457 909090.;


Refuge: Support for women and children experiencing domestic abuse or violence. 24-hour Freephone 0808 3000 247.

Haringey Advice line: Local advice organisations

The Haringey Support Fund: The Haringey Support Fund (HSF) is a scheme to help residents who: have a low income, are facing  unexpected costs, need help to meet their immediate needs, need help to pay for essential items that are difficult to budget for.

St James’s Church Legal Advice Centre: provide a free drop-in service focusing on solving legal problems but we also provide general advice and assistance with debt management. 020 8883 0371.
