Organisations we support
Between 2000 and 2019, Hornsey Parochial Charities have supported over 148 local organisations working to improve the lives of the people of Hornsey.
Supporting the needs of the local community and empowering local people
Hornsey Parochial Charities recognises that community organisations provide vital services to many Hornsey residents and are frequently the frontline in tackling some of the most difficult issues. We know they are also often over stretched, under resourced and gain limited recognition. We provide funding and capacity building support to local community organisations; we've seen the tremendous impact that can be achieved. Working with community organisations is an investment in Hornsey’s future.
We are privileged to work with over 41 locally embedded community organisations supporting the needs of the local residents.

Ending homelessness and rebuilding lives when circumstances threaten to pull individuals into hardship.
Hornsey Parochial Charities believes that it takes more than a roof over someone’s head to end homelessness. While sleeping rough is the most visible form of homelessness, the causes and consequences of having nowhere stable to live are often much more complicated. People experiencing homelessness often face a number of issues, commonly involving feelings of isolation, mental health problems, and drug or alcohol use. We support local organisations working with people in Hornsey to understand their goals and helping them to achieve them. We support community groups providing emergency food and assistance to people locked in poverty and options when circumstances threaten to pull individuals into hardship.
Between 2000 and 2019, we have awarded 49 grants to local organisations working to end homelessness, rebuild lives and creating opportunities when circumstances threaten to pull people into hardship.
Case Study: All People All Places
“Our main aim was to provide emergency accommodation to people facing street homelessness via a Winter Night Shelter in Hornsey. Alongside this, we aimed to support people out of homelessness through the provision of specialist information, advice and advocacy. The grant helped us repaint, refurbishment and provide hardship payments for guests as well as cover the Fire safety surveys. We provided shelter for 44 guest over the winter period, despite the many challenges we faced in completely revising our usual model of winter night shelters during the pandemic, we set up self-contained accommodation. We were able to do this because of the support of funders such as the Hornsey Parochial Charities and were thankfully still able to successfully deliver our project and offer vital shelter and care to homeless people in our community."
Conor Cregan, Services Manager, All People All Places
Supporting older people
Hornsey Parochial Charities recognises that many older people face challenges in their lives. We know that large numbers of older Hornsey residents find themselves struggling. Too many find themselves without the support they desperately need; too many have no-one to turn to. We aim to support local organisations working to improve the lives of older people, whether temporarily or over a long period of time.
We are honoured to work with over 20 local organisations supporting older people in Hornsey.
