Since 1620, Hornsey Parochial Charities have been dedicated to achieving better lives for the people of Hornsey. Through our work, we promote access to education and support local schools and organisations. We create opportunities for people in living in poverty and options when circumstances threaten to pull individuals into hardship. 

 

Hornsey Parochial Charities is:

 

Permanent and Sustainable - Having passed our quadricentenary year in 2020, we’ve gone back to our roots. We were founded 400 years ago to support people in poverty and hardship. Today, these values remain at the heart of our organisation.  We take a long-term sustainable approach to all that we do, every grant, we make supports a Hornsey where individuals don’t just survive but thrive and go on to shape the future of the borough.   

 

Significant - Our work has advanced and transformed over time as the context, opportunities and challenges for people have changed. We always have and always will utilise our collective knowledge and expertise to achieve critical change within Hornsey.

 

Independent - We’re an independent organisation and have a unique role in supporting the borough we serve. Our endowment of invested funds provides our income, including our grant-making; it gives us the independence to focus on those who are most disadvantaged.
